Voting
As one grows older you gain rights and responsibilities. Upon
reaching the age of 18 an American gains the right to vote and is in
most cases considered an adult. The right to vote is in many peoples
minds a responsibility. If you do not vote you in a sense give up
your right to complain. You may only have one vote but every vote
counts and in small locale elections and propositions that one vote
may split a tie. Read your voting materials and talk with friends.
The larger the group you have, the more your group can influence the
out come.
Smoking
At the age of 18 you can legally purchase tobacco products. The chose
to do so is yours or if you are already hooked the chose to quite is
yours. Tobacco products have been proven to be deadly and addictive.
Cancer has been linked to all forms of internally consumable tobacco
products. Chewing Tobacco has been linked with cancers of the mouth
and throat. Smoking in pipe, cigarette or cigar form has been linked

An 18 year old has reached the age of consent in most States. You may
legally engage in consensual sex. Chastity and Abstention is still
recommended by many religions and health specialist until marriage.
If you are going to have sex, it is recommended that a latex
protective divvies be used either a condom or dental dam.
Monogamy is also highly encouraged. Latex protective divvies help
reduce the chance of contracting a STD sexually transmitted disease.

Drinking

have some health benefits. Alcohol can become addictive and should
not be used by men trying to make a baby or women who are pregnant.
Drinking and Driving do not mix. In fact the use of any motorized
vehicle or bicycle while under the influence of Alcohol ( drunk ) is
illegal. Always have a designated driver. Even walking around in
public ( drunk ) can get you a night in the local jail. The use of
Alcohol like any other drug can impair your judgment and lead to
serious consequences : STDs, Lose of ones drivers licence, Increased
insurance fees, Street or bar fights, A criminal record, Your death,
or the Death ( murder ) of someone else. Being high is not a free
pass... If you choose to get high what you do is still your responsibility.
Taxes
Taxes, even people under the age of 18 may be paying income taxes. If
you are under 18 please go to the services section for help in that area.
Gambling
Gambling takes many forms and the legal age to gamble reflects these
different forms. To play California Lotto you must be 18. The
gambling age in Nevada is 21. 21 is the standard legal age to gamble
in all legal forms. Note gambling can also become addictive. Pon
shops in Los Vegas, Tahoe and Reno do rather well.
