Search Engines
Search engines are effectively automated yellow pages for the internet. They hold data on thousands of websites and other resources. The data is in two forms, first what the page is about and then where the page can be located. In other words they hold the what and where of internet data. Many search engines also list the same information that local white and yellow page books do ( Name, Address and Phone Number ). A few even provide maps to locations. Search Engines are an excellent research tool for finding People, Places, Things and General Information.
